Root Canals.
Root canal therapy is necessary when the pulp of a tooth is inflamed, infected or dead. The pulp is the part of the tooth that contains nerves, blood vessels and connective tissues.
A root canal treatment is one of the best options for saving a tooth that might otherwise need to be extracted. While a root canal might sound scary, it is a more cost efficient method then extraction. Typically, a root canal is able to treat the problem for good, but there have been instances where an infection can reoccur.

Why do I need a Root Canal?
What to expect?
This procedure is relatively painless because the tooth that will receive root canal therapy will be numbed. Having root canal therapy can take anywhere from one to two appointments. The first step in a root canal involves taking out the damaged pulp in the tooth and cleaning it out thoroughly. Allowing the dentist to then, go in, and seal up the canals of the tooth to keep them free of infection. Either a permanent filling will be placed, or if it is needed, an additional appointment will be made to do so. A temporary filling would be placed until that second appointment.
- Deep cavity
- Repeated dental procedures
- Cracked or broken teeth
- Injury to the tooth
- Repeated trauma
